  Langeled, North Sea. The 1,km Langeled gas pipeline runs under the North Sea from the Nyhamna processing facility midway along the Norwegian coast to the Easington receiving terminal on the eastern coast of UK. The pipeline carries gas from the Ormen Lange field processed at Nyhamna terminal via a tie-in point at the Sleipner E riser facility.   Pipeline installation methods have significantly changed over the last twenty years. This is pertinently enforced by the recent replacement of the BP Forties km trunkline. When it was first installed in it took two lay barges more than two summers, and each lay barge suffered 60% downtime due to weather. The pipeline is designated to bring natural gas from the Ormen Lange gas process terminal to the UK, but through the connector at Sleipner Riser it provides also an opportunity to send gas through Gassco's.
